it was 2 days before that when the rains began
A freak rainstorm, 14 inches it poured
Now there aint no water in the lake no more
Well I dont think we've ever seen it rain that hard
The lake started rising way up in the yard
Nobody's ever seen it get that high before
Now there aint no water in the lake no more
We got more water than the dam could stand
It flooded our cabins, our homes and our land
The dike gave out in a crumblin roar
Now there aint no water in the lake no more
Bring back Lake Delhi, bring it back
Now we're all still hoping for a quick repair
The cost of all that I guess we'll have to share
Until that happens, I got the blues for sure
